Crazy Night

Indonesia's huge Bung Karno Stadium is known to be a crazy place to witness a soccer game.  It's loud, sometimes dangerous, and always full of very 'supportive' fans of the national team.  However, last night's World Cup qualifying match between Indonesian and Bahrain may have taken things to a new level.

The President of Indonesia, SBY, was in attendance.  The head of the National Football Association was also in attendance.  In the 71st minute, with Bahrain up 2-0, fans started to shoot fireworks into the air and onto the field, while the game was going on.  Bahrain's team quickly retreated off the field and headed for the relative safety of the locker rooms.  Meanwhile, the head of the Football Association was roaming through the raucous crowd with a loudspeaker asking the fans to settle down.

About 20 minutes later, the game finally resumed and Indonesians suffered another defeat in their bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.

(By the way, I was not at this game.  This is just a video taken on a cell phone that was uploaded to youtube...)
