Make Up Work

Kenan on Spring Lake (Michigan)
When we're back in America, it's partly about catching up with family and friends that we haven't seen for 4 years.  Another part is telling people about the work in Bali.  The other part, that we really focus on for our kids, is the American experience.
We want them to understand and experience things that are uniquely American or that they rarely get to experience in Indonesia.
We want them to know about leaves changing colors, rodeos, baseball, demolition derbies, what a football game is, hunting (to get in touch with their Michigan roots), fishing on a lake that actually has fish in it, a county fair, fried oreos*, etc.

We have an "America List" that we made while still in Indonesia.  We have been checking things off the list slowly.  In case you're wondering, some things still on the list are: go to a Monster Truck show (Kenan's idea), go to an amusement park (Jaiden's), eat at Zingerman's Deli in Ann Arbor, MI (Jon's), etc.
We'll get a couple more done but probably not all of them...

*Whether fried oreos are or are not uniquely American is open to debate...
