Pumpkins

The longer we're here in Indo, the harder it gets to keep track of things from the States.  Especially things that are uniquely (at least in our minds) American... things like American football, the World Series, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving, etc.

It feels rather strange to celebrate/remember things that no one else is celebrating and no one really cares about...  So in our small attempt to remember some of the activities typically associated with Fall, we had a little pumpkin carving time with friends.

We will also be celebrating Thanksgiving shortly, but Thanksgiving is always fun because we get to explain to our friends here why we are cooking up lots of special food.  They like to hear the stories of the "orang asli" (original Americans) and how they saved the white people from starvation.  Our friends also like to try the turkey and apple pie...
