Lots of people here in Denpasar are paying money to learn English. However, we find that very few of the people taking these classes are brave enough to actually attempt using their English on a regular basis. Usually they just get embarrassed and revert back to Indonesian.
This is a picture of one of our friends that came to interview Kristi in English for one of her class requirements.
Kristi ended up doing most of the work, translating our friend's questions from Indonesian to English, then Kristi and I answering the questions in English and helping our friend to write everything down in correct English. Then we made a 5 minute video of the interview. It was a lot of tedious work for a five minute video.
Not looking forward to doing that again anytime soon...
