Parties in Indonesia always end up being a big deal. Low key parties just aren't a possibility. So we just went with the flow and followed the advice of our friends and neighbors. We ordered 120 nasi bungkus (rice boxes), 120 little jajan (snack) boxes, 8 crates of drinks, and 120 dessert boxes. Our entire kitchen was full of boxes. This picture shows you just one pile.

About 85-95 people ended up coming, so that still meant about 25 boxes left over. Jaiden and I went out that night around our neighborhood passing out food to some of the people that lived further away and wouldn't have been invited. That was half the fun meeting lots of new people that were excited to get a big meal for the evening.
