This is some stuff from our Christmas party back in December. In this picture, I am telling the Christmas story with lots of our neighbors. I got a big laugh out of the crowd when I told them the story of our first Christmas party in Indonesia back in 2007. I was just beginning to learn Indonesian and went around to invite lots of people. When I was asking one older couple to come to our party, I said, "Saya mau mengandung Bapak dan Ibu karena ada acara natal di rumah saya." (I want to invite Mr. and Mrs. because there is a Christmas party at my house)
Sounds great, right? Only problem is I used the word mengandung (impregnate) instead of mengundang (invite). You can see how that might cause a problem...
