Jaiden has been going to her Indonesian school for about a month and a half. In that time, she has increasingly started to pretend to speak in Indonesian. Also, during that time, what started out as just a bunch of nonsensical syllables, has now turned into bits and pieces of good, understandable Indonesian (the frustrating part for me as a language learner is that her accent and pronunciation are usually better than mine).
Today, another funny example of this occurred. Keep in mind that today was another cloudy, rainy day. In the middle of pretending to speak Indonesian, she said, "Hari ini, cuacanya berawan". Which means, "Today, the weather is cloudy". Kristi and I both stopped what we were doing, looked at each other, and then simultaneously asked Jaiden where she heard that. She just said, "At school..."
Maybe we should just go to kindergarten with her and we will learn Indonesian quicker... :o)
