Two big stories have been dominating news and conversation here lately.
The men responsible for the Bali Bombings of 2002 are scheduled to be executed in early November. The three men have said that they hope their execution will inspire others to commit revenge attacks across Indonesia. People are a little nervous about it here. They want the men to pay for their crimes, but they do not want Bali to be attacked again as a result. It's been a little interesting for us too because we have been getting messages from the American Embassy here warning us to be careful about where we go over the next few weeks. This next one is a little more bizarre. It's been on the front page of the paper everyday for the last week. A Muslim cleric that is 43 years old married a 12 year old girl in Java (the island to the west of us). He actually had some type of contest to choose the prettiest and smartest girl.
