Crash Landing

Indonesia has a less than good reputation when it comes to air transportation.  For quite some time, Indonesia's main airline was banned from European airspace because of all the safety issues.

Lion Air, however, has been one of the bright spots in the Indonesian airline industry.  They have a relatively good safety record (unlike the comment in the video), are adding more destinations, and buying tons of NEW planes.  I often will fly Lion Air when I am traveling within Indonesia.

That's why I was surprised and almost didn't believe it when pictures of a Lion Air plane, split in two and submerged in the ocean, starting popping up from my Indonesian Facebook friends.  Because of Facebook and Twitter, the news spread really fast, and so did the rumors about what caused the crash.
