When we got back to Bali, the water in our house was very yellowish/brown, full of sand, and had an awful smell. Maybe 'awful' doesn't adequately explain the smell. Maybe 'nauseating' is a better description... Taking a shower was very difficult to endure.
After some investigation, we found out that the base of our well/bore was caving in. Due to a lack of casing, there was no hope of fixing it or making it better. So we had to pull up the pipe about 6 meters.
Our water is somewhat better now, but we will most likely have to make a new well.
(The bucket of water in the picture is the exact same stuff that was coming out of our faucets for the worst part of it...)
