I don't know if this kind of news makes it to the States or not, but there have been several big terrorist leaders killed in Indonesia over the past couple of weeks. It all got forgotten when the earthquakes happened, but it's significant nonetheless. The biggest name was Noordin M Top. They've been after him for a long time.
The guys responsible for capturing/killing the terrorists are part of a group called Densus 88. In English it might be said, Delta 88. Their funding and training comes mainly from the US. Because of their recent achievements, they're at near superstar status in Indonesia right now.
