Not Welcome?

Although the majority of Indonesians love Obama, the recent actions in Gaza have made a lot of people's feelings toward American foreign policy less than favorable. Some politicians in the upcoming Presidential and parliamentary elections have even added support for Palestine to their platforms.

Hillary Clinton will be coming to Jakarta, Indonesia's capital, in the next couple of days, and there are already protests starting.

The majority of Indonesians are Muslims, but we live on an island with a majority of Hindus. Most of the Balinese feel very differently about the situation in Palestine than do most of the Muslims. Many of the Muslims were protesting, boycotting McDonald's, etc, but a lot of the Balinese don't really seem to be too concerned about much that happens outside of Bali. They only want peace for all people.

So if you see pictures of more Indonesians protesting when Hillary comes, you can be sure that there are most likely no Balinese present...
