At the tooth filing ceremony, Nenek wanted everyone to know that Made Kenan was her friend. She carried Kenan around, showing him off to all of the other Neneks. Nenek means Grandma, and she lives right down the road from us.
We used to think she only spoke Balinese, but she has started to speak a mixture of Indonesian/Balinese recently, instead of just Balinese. We can understand a little of it, and it has been great to finally communicate with her.
