Another picture from our day trip with Gede and Wayan. If you look carefully in the background, you can see Gunung Agung the biggest mountain on the island (about 10,000 feet). It is also the center of orientation for the Balinese. What does that mean? Instead of saying north or south, they will say towards Agung or away from Agung. All 8 directions are in relation to Agung. All temples in a family compound are placed closest to Agung. All trash piles in a compound are placed in the corner farthest from Agung. The mother temple of Bali, Pura Besakih, is located at Agung also.

     A few things about Kaelen... she is smiling and goofy and silly all the time, EXCEPT for when anyone is taking a picture.  Then she...
