We started off with this small Christmas tree, that Jade and Jn decorated. But we wanted a real tree. Several of our friends assured us that we could find a normal looking Christmas tree (pohon natal). We went to a small island about 15 minutes away from our house and took our motorbike out to what seemed to be the middle of nowhere. Our friend showed us what was basically an evergreen shrub.
So we
went to the rich part of town where some people get trees for this time of year. The trees were nice, but would not be able to hold ornaments or lights. Then we went to the mountains looking for a tree, but we couldn't find any that were small enough to fit in our house. Finally, we settled for a fake tree from a store that caters to tourists and bules (boo-lays). We are not big fans of fake trees, but hey, it works just fine. Several of our neighbors have come to look at the tree, and I think they find it pretty interesting.
